We pride ourselves on keeping our children for a long period of time... they either go off to school or marry as we like to say. We follow a schedule, but realize that sometimes things pop up that need our immediate attention. Like for instance when our cockatiel eggs began to hatch or maybe when a dog had puppies. Sometimes you simply have to go with the moment. Did I mention we love animals? We have three dogs- Dakota, Jessee & Lilly. And we're continually teaching the kids how to treat animals with love and respect. We also have some parrots which live in a room all their own. Unit studies are part of our day as we realize children best learn through doing. Using as many of their senses as possible helps them retain that which they've learned. Finally there's a large backyard just begging to be investigated with riding toys, vegetable garden, trees, teeter totter and a playhouse. A new playhouse is in the planning stage right now.
